We're excited to announce that we have partnered with Bandai to reveal some of the Campaign Rares from set 9!
This set, we have a new rarity; Iconic Attack Rares! These cards come in the form of attacks that some of our favourite characters sport in Dragon Ball!
Similar to Set 7, these Campaign Rares are designed from the ground up to support mono colour decks, while not being strictly restricted to them. I personally am so happy that Bandai have continued to support mono colour even with the excellent multicolour archetypes running around!
Without further adiu, here are the new IAR's!
The first of the iconic attacks is Frieza's Death Ball!
Take a second. Look at that card in all it's beauty! Frieza is one of my favourite characters, so safe to say I'm in love with this card. It's essentially a generic Revenge Death Ball for mono red decks, with a little less neg. Auto include if you are playing mono red IMO!
The Activate: Battle works with any red leader, giving the leader or a battle card +15k for the battle, meaning it can be used in multicolour decks. If you want to get the full value of the card though, the auto goes off if all your energy is red, negging an opponents LEADER or battle card by -10k for the battle. Pretty darn good!
Worth pointing out that if you are careful to only charge Red/X multicolour energy, you can proc the auto effect in a multi deck!
Up next, Ultra Instinct Goku's Kamehameha!
Oooooohhhh so good! This card is insane! It has the same Activate: Battle as Death Ball, except your leader must be blue. If all your energy is blue, you can draw a card if it's your turn, or untap an energy if it's your opponent's turn. So good! Free 15k combo or a psuedo super combo thats +15k! Something tells me this is going to be heavily utilised!
And now, everyone's favourite engineered lifeform, Cell's Earth-Destroying Kamehameha!
Boom, ya boi is here to mess up the planet! Cell looks so awesome here. Man I'm loving the art on these cards, Bandai take a bow! This card has the same activate battle as the others albeit for a green leader. If all your energy is green, you get to choose a random card from your opponent's hand and discard it! So powerful! I'll say it again, these cards are insane!
The final main coloured card is one of my favourite moves from the series, Vegeta's Final Flash!
Talk about a spanner in the works! This card can shut down almost anything on defense! Attacking with HoM or Gogeta 7? Enjoy your vanilla card! Activate battle is as the others, but the auto allows you to choose one of your opponent's battle cards, ignoring barrier, and negate it's skills for the duration of the turn! Whooooooop.
This art is getting more and more beautiful! The final card of this reveal is Majin Buu's Human Extinction Attack.
This card is arguably the easiest to use since black is generally mono coloured. By now we are all familiar with the activate battle. This cards auto allows you to warp a card from your opponent's drop area, shutting down wish plays and other drop mechanics. It also set's up your next overrealm or other drop utilisation by allowing you to place up to 4 cards from the top of your deck into the drop area. A good effect for sure, but not as powerful as some of the others.
Wow that was a crazy reveal! I hope you're all as excited as I am about this set. I think it's one of the most exciting we've seen yet! Can't wait to see what else they have in store for us!
Thanks to Bandai for allowing us to reveal these cards!
